About Americaware

The Americaware Story

Americaware was first experienced by the USA as a division of International News in the late 1980's.  The founder of International News, the late Michael Alesko, was always looking for 'the leading edge' of fun and casual sportwear.  Mike and International News were always looking for different sources of inspiration for the products they produced, and found them in many unusual places around the world, hence the company name of International News!  We had 'new' ideas formed during Mike's continual globetrotting.

Fast forward to 2011 - Americaware is now finding incredible and fun images from a new 'unusual' source - the alternative comics world!  Seattle Washington (Americaware's home) is a hotbed of alternative comic artists, and we just had to bring their artwork to the world.

We will be continually adding new artists to our cadre of the initial artists to keep a continual flow of wild art, previously unavailable on a t-shirt.

We hope you'll follow us along as we unearth the underground, and bring it to you on high quality tees.
